This is one of the issue a blogger encounter when trying to redirect custom domain maybe .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz e.t.c from a Domain Registrar to their Blog. Ain’t it ridiculous when your blog readers are able to view your blog via www.YourUrl.com but were seeing error if they type YourUrl.com.

Some of your blog visitor might be in an hurry not to remember to put www. and when they do that, your blog won’t be Clickable, Viewable & Available. The truth is: I also experienced the same but after much Persistency and Researching ideas, I was able to solve it out after battling with it for several minutes.

Now if you’ve just created a custom domain & have sets the DNS settings both in your Domain Registrar Panel and Blog correctly, Here are simple tips to make your blog url work With or Without “www”

  • How To Make Your Blog Accessible With or Without “www”

  • Step 1(checking the www version): The first step to check if the configurations are well-set is to type the url of the custom domain in your address bar and see if it will open your blog.
Meanwhile add www before the custom domain. If it opens your blog, congrats as that means the DNS Settings are well-configured.

Step 2(checking if the non-www is working): Now Lets see if the blog will open with non-www. Type YourBlogUrl.com without adding www before it. If it works, then congrats.. If it doesn’t proceed to step 3

Step 3(fixing the non-www version): To make your blog show with or without www, simply Goto the Blog Dashboard >> Click on Settings >> Basic >> Blog Address.
Click on ‘Edit blog address’ and Tick the box which says “redirect blogurl.com to www.blogurl.com”. Now save it and you’re good to go!
